WHAT A STEP AHEAD DOES

From surviving a zombie outbreak to escaping an army of alien invaders, A Step Ahead challenges take place in an ever-expanding fictional universe that’s fun, funny and engaging.

A Step Ahead challenges allow players to choose how they want to play. For example, you can survive the zombie outbreak as a human, or chase your co-workers as one of the zombies. Each side has its own story, goals and objectives.

Each A Step Ahead challenge is an episode in the ongoing A Step Ahead story universe, meaning you can play multiple A Step Ahead challenges without ever repeating the same content.

A Step Ahead provides a fun peer vs. peer game world where two (or more) factions vie for domination. Both sides are playable, creating a cycle of motivation to either chase or be chased.

A Step Ahead draws game progress from the steps and healthy activity that players get in real-life. The healthier and more active players are in the real-world, the better they will do both individually and in teams, in A Step Ahead challenges.

Each week provides participants with new goals, story-based objectives, and opportunities to score big bonuses, keeping the experience fresh and allowing teams to stay competitive throughout, even if they appear to be far behind.

Teamwork is an integral part of the A Step Ahead experience. Players are more accountable, engage more deeply, and simply have more fun in a team-based environment.

Because A Step Ahead awards points at the team level, synergy and teamwork are more important than a single superstar player, and with weekly bonuses available, teams that seem far behind can close ground and remain competitive.

Group chat allows players to share words of encouragement (or talk smack) with their teammates or with the entire group.

The A Step Ahead game board is the ultimate leaderboard, with teams visually drawn along changing landscapes, showing their position relative to each other and their foes.

A Step Ahead keeps players in the know with daily and weekly summary emails to let players know how they’re doing, as well as nightly reminders to enter steps or sync their activity trackers.

Rotating billboards on the UtiliFIT dashboard communicate game tips, your company’s custom messages, and game-related flavor. The Activity Feed lets players see what other players are up to.

UtiliFIT Deskercise mini-games send out small physical activities every hour to keep employees active in small bursts throughout the day, keeping them from being sedentary at their desks for hours and hours on end.

The UtiliFIT Diet and Lifestyle Tracker doesn’t focus on repeating back what employees ate or did, but rather gives them small, achievable daily goals (like hydration, adequate sleep, or eating enough fruits or veggies) to incorporate into a healthy lifestyle.

The UtiliFIT Exercise Tracker allows users to input their exercise and receive points and/or extra progress in A Step Ahead challenges.

UtiliFIT Deskercise mini-games pull from an activity list over 300 strong that includes everything from yoga to strength training. Each activity is available in 3 difficulties, intelligently scaling from beginner to advanced as players progress and get better.

Employees can choose the UtiliFIT Deskercise fitness program that works best for their lifestyle, be it office-friendly activities, leaning out with yoga, building up strength or endurance, or following along with an A Step Ahead challenge story.

The UtiliFIT Platform will rate participants from 1-5 stars each week based upon how they do across the pillars of healthy living: steps, exercise, healthy eating, and daily activity.
